Hidden Gems: How to Hook Up Your Home Theater (2007)

*The TV that Goofy orders includes Dopey digital, which is of course one of the seven dwarfs and a pun on Dolby.

*'Mickey Mouse' is printed on the side of the box.

*This is a great in-joke. When Goofy clears the room to make space for his speakers, he wipes away all the items on top of the cabinet. These are: a photo of Walt Disney; a picture of Goofy’s first appearance in the 1932 cartoon Mickey’s Revue (when he was then called Dippy Dawg); a picture of Clarabelle Cow who is part of the Mickey family and Goofy’s occasional girlfriend and a caricature of John Lasseter, the CCO of Disney and Pixar animation studios.

*I’m not 100% sure about this one, but Goofy’s fish looks an awful lot like Cleo from Pinocchio (1940).

*Once all the equipment has been set up, Goofy looks at his Mickey Mouse watch.

*The Goofy holler appears at the 5:37 mark when he is shot into space.

Hidden Gems: The Rescuers Down Under (1990)

*Just as in the first film, the Mickey Mouse watch makes another appearance at the Rescue Aid Society.

Hidden Gems: Basil The Great Mouse Detective (1986)

*Bill, the unfortunate lizard from Alice in Wonderland (1951) who gets sneezed out of the chimney by a giant Alice, here reappears as one of Rattigan’s henchmen.

*When Basil investigates the toymaker’s shop, there is a Dumbo toy blowing bubbles.

Hidden Gems: The Rescuers (1977)

*At the Rescuers’ headquarters, a Mickey Mouse watch on the wall doubles as a clock.

*When Orville gets sucked into Madam Medusa’s engine, he makes a high pitched scream which is actually the Goofy holler. It happens at around the 7:10 mark.

Hidden Gems: Brother Bear (2003)

*Towards the beginning of the film when Denahi and Sitka are fishing, Nemo can be spotted.

*During the ‘Trashin’ the Camp’ sequence, Mrs Potts and Chip from Beauty and the Beast (1991) can be spotted.

*When the apes hold Professor Porter upside down, a toy version of Little Brother from Mulan (1998) falls out.

*One of the men on board Clayton’s ship is a caricature of animation legend, Glen Keane.

Hidden Gems: Fantasia (1940)

*The name of the sorcerer in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice segment is named Yensid, a semi-palindrome of Disney. (The implication also being that Yensid, like Walt Disney, was a rather intimidating authority figure amongst his employees).
